Records Manager
This position is responsible for leading, planning and managing the company’s records management program regardless of medium or format. Responsible for corporate records policies and procedures for US and Canada.
Ensures that all information practices meet federal and state regulations as well as company standards. Provides leadership to and drives development of Records Management staff. The individual will create, manage and direct the enterprise Records Management program in support of IS and Company Strategies as well as serve as the chief technical expert on all records management issues including paper and electronic. In addition, this position will ensure compliance with company records management policies and manage annual records management compliance audits. This individual will advise and train enterprise departments/staff on the management of their records and information. In addition, this position is responsible for advocating best practice records management policies and procedures. It is important that this position demonstrate a commitment to quality customer service and follow through as well as meet regularly with clients to understand and meet their records management requirements. The Records Manager will provide leadership to the Records Management department, monitor and assess performance of staff, and provide feedback as well as training. It is necessary that this individual articulates Records Management objectives and performance to senior management and others and recommends and monitors key performance indicators utilizing results to drive ongoing improvement. The Records Manager will consult with users on automation needs for their records management as well as ensure records management software and hardware solutions meet the needs of client and support enterprise records management. In addition, this position will provide technical expertise and work with IT and others on the implementation and ongoing utilization of an ECM system. The Records Manager will standardize and recommend improvements to records management operating procedures. This position may require extended support hours, including weekends.
Required qualifications of the successful candidate include:
- Bachelor’s degree required and 5 additional years of specialized relevant work experience.
- Requires 3-4 years supervisory experience.
- A CRM is desirable, but equivalent training and experience will be considered.
- Displays strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and drive to succeed.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to professionally address issues involving all levels of personnel.
- Effective leadership skills to motivate, coordinate and lead teams/project members.
- Must possess solid analytical and problem solving skills.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills.
- ECM system implementation and/or administration experience
- Some IT experience and training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to operate a computer using a keyboard and mouse requiring continuous or repetitive arm-hand-eye movement.
- Able to remain in a sitting or standing position for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally required to perform the various duties associated with maintaining records that includes bending, kneeling, reaching above the shoulders, using step stools, walking to deliver and pick up records with or without the aid of a cart.
- Able to lift, push, or pull 40 pounds.
